Set yourself apart in the world of retail

Kunsoo Han Academic Director, MMR Program
This is an exciting time to work in retail where things are changing rapidly and innovations are taking place constantly. What worked before in retail will not necessarily work today or in the future. In order to train our students to lead the future of retail, there’s nothing traditional or expected about our MMR program.
We recognize that employers are hungry for a set of skills that most retailing programs have historically neglected to teach, like retail analytics, sustainability, and design thinking. That’s why we are in constant communication with our retail partners and collaborators to ensure that our curriculum is exactly what top retail employers want and need. With a variety of sector concentrations like Fashion/Luxury Goods, Food/ Grocery, Fintech, and Entertainment/Hospitality, our students can personalize their learning to gain a competitive edge. In designing our MMR program, we have pioneered a new era of retail education and leadership and we expect our students to lead the ever-evolving retail landscape.
Our MMR program approaches retail management from an integrated perspective. We have built the curriculum on the concept of customer journey to understand, attract and satisfy retail customers and manage for sustainability. The program will train students on the skillsets needed to fulfil each step of the retail journey, drawing from the relevant business disciplines.
We don’t treat business disciplines, such as marketing and operation management, as separate silos. They are integrated into the program to support and enhance retail management education. Another advantage of our program is that we have made it very flexible to accommodate different students’ needs. For students who come into the program with significant retail experience, they can complete an accelerated track in one year. There is also a wide selection of elective courses that can allow students to be trained in analytics, creativity, or leadership.
